Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi keeps making headlines. Barely time to process the opening of Kryptonite Collider on July 26th, the park’s first new permanent attraction since its 2018 launch, which also coincided with being named Best Theme Park in the World at the 2026 Liseberg Applause Awards, and Yas Island is already back with an announcement of a whole different scale!
Harry Potter in Abu Dhabi: Three Brand-New Lands for 2029
On September 7, 2026, Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences officially confirmed the arrival of three Harry Potter-themed lands at the park: Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest. Together, they will cover approximately 63,000 square metres, with an opening targeted for 2029. Attraction names and an official opening date have not yet been announced. However, it has been confirmed that the park will feature world exclusives!
And that is arguably the most significant part of this announcement. Unlike the Harry Potter lands we already know, where flagship attractions like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey are replicated identically from one park to the next, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is promising attractions created exclusively for this location, with never-before-seen storylines and ride systems built from the ground up.
Among the teased attractions is a ride centred on the flying Ford Anglia, the enchanted car belonging to Arthur Weasley, which would take guests on a chaotic journey through the Forbidden Forest, past the Whomping Willow and giant Acromantula spiders. A world first in the Harry Potter theme park universe.
Construction is already underway: photos published by Themeparx, the world’s leading theme park construction tracker, already show barriers in place on site bearing the words “Warner Bros. World Phase 2 Expansion”, backed by an official building permit.
An Expansion That Increases the Park’s Size by Over 50%
Combined with the two new DC attractions (Kryptonite Collider, already open, and Superman Up and Away, a next-generation flying roller coaster expected in 2028), the full expansion will add approximately 70,000 square metres of new theme park space, representing an increase of more than 50% of the park’s current footprint. A massive transformation for a site that currently features six themed lands.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is part of the broader Yas Island leisure ecosystem, which also includes Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld and SeaWorld Yas Island. Since opening in 2018, the park has welcomed millions of visitors each year and established itself as one of the UAE’s flagship entertainment destinations, before being crowned Best Theme Park in the World at the 2026 Liseberg Applause Awards, a first for any park in the region.

In just a few months, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has gone from a park with no new permanent attraction since 2018 to the most ambitious leisure construction project in the Emirates. A new flat ride, a new coaster for 2028, and now the largest Harry Potter expansion ever built outside Universal’s Orlando resort: Yas Island is firmly establishing itself as one of the most exciting destinations to watch in the years ahead. For now, details remain limited, but there is little doubt that as construction progresses, there will be plenty more exciting announcements to come!
